Rope access is a professional technique where trained technicians use industrial-grade ropes, harnesses, anchor systems, and descenders to safely reach and work at height on buildings, structures, and towers. It was originally developed for industrial inspection and maintenance work and has become the preferred method for high-rise window cleaning, building maintenance, and exterior inspections.
Unlike boom lifts or scaffolding, rope access requires minimal setup time, causes no disruption to building occupants or street traffic, and can reach areas that traditional equipment simply cannot access. It is also significantly more cost-effective for multi-story buildings.
At Skyworks Unlimited, all of our rope access technicians are certified through IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) and SPRAT (Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians) — the two highest internationally recognized certifications for this work. Every project follows strict safety protocols to protect both our team and your property.
Professional window cleaning involves several techniques depending on the building type, window height, and level of soiling. For ground-level and low-rise properties, our technicians use a combination of a professional-grade cleaning solution, scrubbers to loosen dirt, and high-quality squeegees to achieve a streak-free finish. Edges and frames are wiped down to prevent drip marks.
For mid-rise and high-rise buildings, we use water-fed pole systems with deionized (purified) water, rope access techniques, or boom equipment depending on access. Our team inspects each window for hard water staining, paint overspray, or construction residue before selecting the appropriate cleaning method.
After cleaning, we do a final quality check from ground level and touch up any missed spots. We treat every window — from a single-family home to a 30-story tower — with the same attention to detail.
Post-construction window clean-up is a specialized cleaning service designed to remove the heavy soiling left behind by construction or renovation work. This includes concrete splatter, paint overspray, silicone residue, mortar, adhesive labels, sawdust, and deep-set grime that standard cleaning methods cannot remove.
This type of work requires specific tools and chemical solutions — improper cleaning can permanently scratch or etch glass. Our Skyworks technicians are trained to assess the type of contamination first, then use the correct combination of razor scrapers, specialized solvents, and non-abrasive techniques to restore the glass to a pristine, damage-free condition.
We have completed post-construction clean-ups on residential builds, commercial fit-outs, and large-scale multi-unit developments across Los Angeles and Long Beach. If you have recently completed a project and need the glass restored, contact us for a site assessment and free estimate.
Hard water contains high concentrations of dissolved minerals — primarily calcium and magnesium. When hard water dries on glass (from sprinklers, rain runoff, or tap water), it leaves behind white, chalky deposits called mineral scale. Over time, these deposits bond to the glass surface and become increasingly difficult to remove with standard cleaning methods.
At Skyworks Unlimited, we use professional-grade hard water removal products specifically formulated to dissolve mineral bonds without damaging the glass or surrounding frames. For severe build-up, we combine chemical treatment with careful mechanical scraping using specialized tools rated safe for use on glass. In extreme cases where etching has occurred, we can assess whether glass restoration or polishing is possible.
If your property has irrigation systems that spray onto windows, we also recommend speaking to us about protective coatings or adjusting your sprinkler positioning — preventing re-soiling is just as important as the initial clean.
Deionized (DI) water is water that has had all dissolved minerals, salts, and ions removed through a filtration process. When used for window cleaning, it has a powerful advantage: because it contains no dissolved particles, it acts like a magnet — it wants to absorb and hold dirt and contaminants rather than leave them behind.
Our technicians apply deionized water through a water-fed pole system with a soft brush head. The brush agitates and loosens dirt while the pure water rinses it away completely. When the water evaporates, there is nothing left behind — no mineral residue, no streaks, and no spots. This makes DI water window cleaning ideal for exterior windows on 1–5 story buildings where access is possible from the ground.
Another major benefit is safety and speed: technicians stay on the ground rather than climbing ladders, reducing risk and allowing faster coverage of large buildings. The result is consistently spotless, streak-free windows — especially on properties where standard cleaning leaves water spots due to local hard water.
The right cleaning frequency depends on your property type, location, and environment, but here is a general guide:
For residential homes, twice a year (every 6 months) is typically sufficient. However, homes near the ocean (like those in Long Beach or Santa Monica) may need quarterly cleaning due to salt air and sea spray, which accelerates glass soiling and can cause mineral build-up.
For commercial properties, office buildings, and storefronts, monthly or bi-monthly cleaning is recommended to maintain a professional appearance and protect glass from long-term damage caused by pollution, exhaust, and atmospheric grime.
For high-rise buildings, quarterly cleaning is standard, though many property management companies in Los Angeles schedule bi-annual or monthly services depending on the building's profile and tenant expectations.
Skyworks Unlimited offers flexible recurring maintenance plans. We'll recommend a schedule based on your specific property, then handle reminders and bookings automatically so you never have to think about it. Ask about our maintenance packages when you request your free estimate.
